Mark has played with the ‘who’s who’ of the Australian Jazz scene including Mike Nock, Bernie McGann, Dale Barlow, Sean Wayland, James Muller, Matt Macmahon, Idea of North, National Jazz Award winners Brendan Clarke, Alana Stone and Eamon McNelis, Freidman fellowship recipients Andrew Robson and Ben Hauptmann, Julian Lee, George Golla, Craig Scott, the late Jan Rutherford and Jackie Orzasky, Fiona Burnett, Jonathan Schwartz, Vince Jones, Grace Knight and Adrian Cunningham, just to name some…

He has also had the good fortune of playing with many visiting international artists including Wynton Marsalis, Bob Mintzer, Peter Omara, and 4 performances with the legendary bassist of the Dave Brubeck quartet, “Senator” Eugene Wright. He has been part of many of Canberra’s key bands including, Swing Street, Kings of Swing, Jumping Jazz Cats, Limelight (featuring Daniel Edmunds), Annie and the Armadillos, The Funky Fedoras (Featuring Angela Lount) and Zootster.

As a recording artist Mark has played on albums for Craig Schneider, Greg Stott, the Wayne Kelly trio and many others. He has also been a musician on various Cruise ships and has played with the Canberra Pops orchestra as well as several Canberra Philharmonic productions such as Chicago, Westside Story and Joseph and his Technicolor Dreamcoat. Other theatre highlights include work with Simon Gallagher, John English and a season of shows at the Canberra Theatre with Barry Humphries.

Currently Mark has been actively gigging in the Canberra and Sydney music scene, last year also saw mark perform as a guest at the Magnetic Island Jazz Festival with Miroslav Bukovsky and the Christchurch (NZ) jazz festival with Greg Stott and John Mackie. In February 2011, Mark was invited to play with renowned Jazz pianist Tom Vincent at the Hobart International Jazz festival also featuring the beautifal voice of Julie Ohara.

Some of Mark's past students have gone on to become established performers and teachers in their own right.  Mark Currently teaches at the ANU School of Music in the degree and pre teriary studies courses, at home he runs a modern teaching facility, complete with recording studio.
