Australian soprano Miriam Allan presents a workshop on The Accent Method, widely used with singers and actors to develop good and effective breathing patterns. The Accent Method is not only beneficial to singers, but to any professional voice user, including university lecturers, and has broader implications for wind and brass players.
The workshop will include a 20-minute presentation on the The Accent Method followed by a 90-minute workshop featuring ANU School of Music Vocal Students. The Accent Method helps to coordinate breath, vocal function, articulation, body movement and language, in order to develop and strengthen the normal functions of the voice thereby giving the speaker, singer or patient a secure foundation for voice use.
