The CSO’s Gala concerts have over the five years of their existence become the hottest tickets in town. Each of the events dating back to 2007 have sold out - some, like last year’s Evening with George Gershwin sold out in a matter of days. In 2013, the CSO presents for its ACTEW Grand Gala, An Evening with Leonard Bernstein. The concert will feature all of the composer’s biggest hits, culminating in the intoxicating Symphonic Dances from West Side Story. The Canberra Symphony Orchestra will be conducted by its Chief Conductor and Artistic Director, (Artistic Patronage etc. etc), Nicholas Milton, and will feature the sublime voice of one of Australia’s most versatile and brilliant sopranos, Lorina Gore, in some wonderful selections including “Tonight”, “I feel pretty”, and “Somewhere” from West Side Story.
