Zach Raffan is a Canberra based musician and actor. Since his final return to Australia in October 2009 from playing lead trumpet on Royal Carribbean cruise ships, and two years study in Germany, he has become one of Canberra's most versatile professional trumpet players, specialising in the styles of latin, traditional jazz and classical. Currently, he is principal trumpeter of the Canberra Symphony Orchestra and lead trumpet in Australia's leading Latin Band MiTierra. He also performs with Carl Rafferty's opera productions, and is one of the resident buglers at the Australian War Memorial. As an afternoon job he teaches brass around Canberra schools - St Edmund's Boys College, Canberra Girls Grammar, and at 'Music for Everyone' at the Ainslie Arts Centre. As an actor he has worked commercially with bearcage productions, and have acted main roles in such plays as Pool no water (Everyman theater) 2012, Speaking in Tongues (Canberra Repertory) 2012, Voyage around my Father (Canberra Repertory) 2010, Rebel without a cause (Free Rain) in 2008, The Kelly Women (Wayfarers) 2007, Les Miserables (Stuttgart Kelly Theater, Germany) 2006.
