A great week for announcements with yet another appointment to the School of Music!

The School of Music would like to welcome pianist Ji Young Kim to the School as Associate Lecturer in Classical Piano.

Ji Young's circuitous musical path has taken her from her hometown of Santiago, Chile, to New York, where she studied at Manhattan School of Music and Columbia University.

Serendipitous circumstances steered Ji Young towards an exploration of early keyboards with Malcolm Bilson. She has been working her way back to the performance stage since then, nurturing a performer-scholar profile. As a performer, she strives for vivid renditions of eighteenth- and nineteenth-century music, informed by historical contexts and instruments, analytical insight, and careful programming. Notable recent projects include an exploration of Robert Schumann’s late instrumental music with the Formosa Quartet. This summer she appears at the Bloomington and Boston Early Music Festivals with violin partner Jessica Park.

From Professor Kenneth Lampl, Head of School, all of the staff and students, we welcome Ji Young to the ANU School of Music!
