ACT Young Performer of the Year

Each year the Fine Music Network which includes, 2MBS Sydney, 3MBS Melbourne, 4MBS Brisbane, 5MBS Adelaide and ArtSound FM runs a young performer's award for classical artists. The final for this year’s competition will be on 15 November in Brisbane at the 4MBS Performance Studio.  The national prize is $5000 and the ACT prize includes a $500 cash prize, an interview on ArtSound FM and flights to Brisbane supported by the Friends of the School of Music.

The ACT finalist for 2013 is ANU School of Music final year voice student, Krystle Innes.

“I am absolutely honoured to be announced as the ACT Young performer of the year, it is reassurance that I am on the right path. If I am successful, I plan to use the winnings to support my studies in the United Kingdom next year.  I would like to thank the ANU School of Music for the nomination as well as the wonderful support from Artsound FM, the Friends of the School of Music and my teacher Anthea Moller."

Krystle’s finals programme will include Steal Me Sweet Thief (Menotti), Song to the Moon (Dvorak), Tu che di gel sei cinta (Puccini) and Gypsy Songs (Dvorak).
