You will attain the knowledge and experience that will allow you to negotiate a wide variety of career paths in music as well as help contribute to the development of musical culture in the wider community.
Bachelor of Music students can major in:

- Musicology (including Ethnomusicology)
- Composition, Arranging and Sound Design
- Music Technology
You can now combine your music degree with numerous other degree combinations as part of the University's flexible double degrees program.
Even if you are not studying for a music degree you are able to take music courses as part of your elective units, as well as play in a wide variety of School of Music Ensembles, such as the ANU Chamber Choir, ANU Chamber Orchestra, and ANU Jazz Ensemble.
The Bachelor of Music (Honours) is characterised by the concept of music—be it performance, composition, or musicology — as a research-led process that explores questions relevant to our understanding of what it means to be human and of who we are.
