Violinist Graeme Jennings is a member of Australia’s internationally acclaimed new music ensemble ELISION and Senior Lecturer in Violin and Viola at Griffith University and Michael Kieran Harvey is a multi-award winning Australian concert pianist and composer. Graeme and Michael are traveling to Canberra to be the guest adjudicators in the Whitworth-Roach Competition which will be held on Thursday 21 and Friday 22 September, courtesy of Ms Christine Roach who provides the endowment which sponsors the annual competition.
The heats for the competition will feature six ANU students and will be held Thursday 21 September, 1.30pm in the Larry Sitsky Recital Room. Entry is open to the public and free.
Four entrants will go through to the Finals which will be held on Friday 22 September, 6pm on stage in Llewellyn Hall, ANU School of Music. Tickets are available via EventBrite: Full $15, Concession $10, Student $5. ANU School of Music students free.
The endowment also provides for outreach programs and in 2017 this will take the form of a concert by Graeme Jennings and Michael Kieran Harvey on Thursday evening. Don't miss this opportunity to see two of the country's renowned musicians.
