‘Musica Nuova’ a Recollection: A peak into the creation and performance of New Music at the School of Music over the past 50 years.

Ensembles have been an integral part of the School of Music for the last 50 years, providing a means through which students, staff and sometimes even community members are able to work together in an encouraging environment to create and showcase music for everyone.

The concept of the ‘New Music’ ensemble has been a significant and unique part of the School of Music for the last 40 or so years, utilizing new developments in music as they are introduced to the school and transforming them into interesting and sometimes interactive ensemble performances. This documentary will take aspects of this timeline and magnify them a little more to uncover some intriguing facts about the foundations of the ‘nuovo’ music scene at ANU and through Canberra!
