MuST - Music for Students with Talent
Katrina Hunt
Convenor
The MuST program, designed for students 12 to 16, enhances a student’s knowledge and understanding of music and increases their awareness of the myriad of possibilities that music- making can present. MuST is a joint program of the School of Music and the ACT Department of Education and Training, which aims to enrich and extend students’ musical knowledge, skills and creative abilities.
All MuST students undertake extension and practical activities designed to complement their school and instrumental music tuition. The course is also designed to nurture talented students who have not previously had the opportunity to learn music.
The MuST program is limited to 80 secondary students in Years 7 – 10. Following an audition process in December, applicants are accepted at the beginning of the next year. Acceptance into the program is subject to approval by the Principal of the student’s secondary school.
